“Irony abounds in this painting—a simple little mannequin paints a self-portrait—the sophisticated Mona Lisa. As the figure looks in the mirror, the viewer still sees only the mannequin. But, as she paints herself as she really is, the viewer notices that the simple mannequin is none other than the very famous ‘Mona Lisa’ by Leonardo Da Vinci. By doing this as a direct parody of Norman Rockwell’s ‘Triple Self-Portrait,’ I embark upon the desire to give recognition and adulation to the beloved, genius artist and illustrator, Norman Rockwell.”
