“One morning at church, I began to ponder what it would look like if God sat beside me…if He convened with me as though we were just two friends together. I didn’t know how else to draw the idea of God, since He would be above my comprehension. So, I thought the head of a lion would have to do. When I thought of the face of the girl, I wanted to express the idea that two people were simply enjoying each other’s company, not because of any special event, but simply because they loved being in each other’s presence.”
